Eat Amsterdam

The somewhat pricey wines and gourmet nibbles at Bubbles and Wines attract a suit-clad marketing crowd. But if you have a bit of cash to splash and like wines and champagnes, there's an extensive selection on offer.

Around 50 wines are available by the glass, with a further 180 wines available by the bottle. The flights - three half glasses of different wines served at once - are a good option if you can't choose or, like me, you're just plain greedy, and are an unusual way of comparing several wines.

Bubbles and wines is located on Nes, a narrow street between Dam Square and the Red Light District in one of the oldest parts of town. In typical Amsterdam style, the building is very narrow but seems to go back for ever, and there's lots of black, brown and dark red in the low-lit interior.
