Door74 is a concept cocktail bar in the centre of Amsterdam, along the lines of Milk & Honey in New York and London, or Rum Trader in Berlin.

The difference with Door74 is that although it's exclusive, in the sense that you have to ring and reserve a table on the day you plan to visit, it doesn't require insider knowledge to get in - just knowledge of the phone number.

Once you reserve, you will be given the address (it's very central). Upon arrival an unmarked door swings open, speakeasy style, and a black-clad bartender ushers you in and takes your coat.

Inside is a handful of dimly lit booths for private imbibing and a few high stools at the bar. Despite its exclusivity, the cocktail bar is never pretentious. The exclusivity doesn't come cheap though: all cocktails cost €9.50, but the bartenders pour generously and quality is high.
