Kef is a treasure trove for Dutch and French cheese lovers. The shop is sandwiched between a coffeeshop and beauty salon on an otherwise deserted stretch of Marnixstraat, but it's worth a special trip.

Buyer beware! A visit to Chocolatl may be the start of a lifelong addiction. On my first trip to this new chocolate shop in the Jordaan, I spent the equivalent of a meal out on cocoa confections.

In a land fuelled by coffee, Sara Verver and Fenje Bolt have taken the bold step of opening a tea bar. Located on the lovely Haarlemmerdijk, Tea Bar sells over 50 different loose natural teas, ranging from black to green to herbal.
