Little Buddha Amsterdam is offering spiritual refreshment, of an intoxicating kind, with discounted beer, wine and cocktails.
During the daily happy hours from 5pm to 8pm, draft beer is €2.50, house wine €3.50 and five cocktails from the 30 or so on the menu cost €7 (normal cocktail prices range from €11 to a staggering €19.50). These include a Daiquiri, Cosmopolitan and a pretty good Hibiscus Margarita.
Little Buddha Amsterdam is the Dutch offshoot of the global restaurant and lounge concept that first opened in Paris. The interior is a mix of opulence and kitsch, which includes plush velvet booths, a sweeping staircase and a huge seated Buddha who serenely surveys the very un-Zen-like imbibing crowd.
Little Buddha Amsterdam also serves Asian-inspired food for lunch and dinner.
