Okay, so €27.50 isn't a tiny price tag. But given that lobster is never cheap, this dining deal at Amsterdam Restaurant Looks looks pretty good to me.

During the 'summer lobster weeks', Restaurant Looks will be offering 500g of Canadian lobster for €27.50 per person. The lobster is served ready to eat. In other words, you don't have to worry about wrestling with the shell or extracting the tastiest morsels from the claws.

Looks is a modern Dutch-French restaurant in a very old building, with irregular levels and unexpected corners connected by steps. I ate here for a friend's birthday about four years ago, before I had set up Eat Amsterdam. The food was great, but so was the bill - perhaps another reason to take advantage of this lobster deal.

The restaurant is located on Binnen Bantammerstraat, a street off Amsterdam's Nieuwmarkt that rivals Zeedijk for the density of eateries but is much quieter. Cheap and cheerful Thai restaurant OCHA and newcomer Eat Me Amsterdam can also be found here.
